Blackberry Patch believes in using all natural and non toxic dyes when ever possible. We also scour the herb gardens orchards and local forests for the ingredients to create these one of a kind colors with all their natural variations. Miki, our dye specialist, is always looking for brand new or very old techniques to use.
Blackberry Patch & Thompson Romney Farm is located about 5 miles from downtown Tacoma, WA. Because of the high annual rainfall we looked for a sheep breed that can tolerate lots of water. Romney’s are perfect for this area because they were originally bred for living in the Romney Marshes of England and are naturally hoof rot resistant. We strive to breed quality Romneys with special attention to fleece and temperment. Our flock has it's genetics in Schwider, Bullock, and Ironwater Our first "AI" lambs were born in 2004.
